      The Frog's Blog

Hi friends. This blog is a labor of love and I want to continue writing every day for a long time to come. But I need a little help. The fees to maintain this website are getting costly for a little frog. If you enjoy reading my blogs, will you please donate a dollar or two, or whatever you can, to help me keep this site (and blog) up and running? I'm on PayPal at irwinquagmirewart@gmail.com. Thank you!

One of my closest friends is a biker frog.  He belongs to a motorcycle club aptly called The Pad Mounted Transformers (a little electrical/biker humor there). Most of the other frogs in Lily Pad are afraid of them. It is commonly believed that motorcyclists are mean and dangerous; frogs to be avoided at all cost. Sometimes that's true but, like my mom always told me, "Irwin, you can't judge a book by just its cover. You must open it up and look inside." Mom's right...she always is.
I met this group of frogs because they do a lot of charity work in Lily Pad. Some of them are the same nonprofits that I support. Most of their good work is performed anonymously. Secretly, though, I think they like being thought of as the "bad boy" frogs but, in reality, they're all very kind, generous, and compassionate towards others. Many of them are working professionals during the week; doctors, lawyers, bankers, et. This is their week-end fun, a way to blow off a little stress. If word got out about how nice these guys really are, everybody would want to join...so they put up a wall by wearing studded leather and bandanas on their heads. Plus, they ride the biggest, baddest bikes on the market.
These Transformer guys are the epitome of why we should judge people solely on their outward appearance. If I had, I wouldn't have gotten to know my dear friend or become involved with several of their frog-tastic charities. The Pad Mounted Transformers are tops in my book. We'd all do well to emmulate their exemplary behavior. Ok, so most of us can't get away with wearing leather and boots everyday, nor do we want to trade in the family sedan for "hog," but their ability to give of themselves, tirelessly, is something we can all try to imitate.
My friend, Frog Wild, is coming soon to pick me up and take me for ride. That means I've gotta get hoppin'. But before I go, please remember to be less judgemental about the people you come into contact with. Just as you don't want to be judged strictly on your appearance, neither do they. That kind of attitude serves no one, least of all you!
Vroom. Vroom.
In case you're wondering how they came up with their name, here's what it means: In the electric utility world, a pad mounted transformer is an electricl power distribution  transformer, housed in a steel casing and mounted on a concrete slab. This type of electrical distribution system is generally found in communities with underground electric wires. For the biker group, it's meaning is somewhat different. All of the members are from Lilly Pad, they mount (or ride) motorcycles, they transform lives through their charity work, AND they're full of energy. So now you know! Pretty clever name, eh?
