The great thing is, they don't need to be large things. Opening the door for someone, baking cookies with a child, helping your neighbor when their car is in the garage. These some acts of kindness can brighten someone's day while making you feel truly good inside.
Sometimes, all someone needs is the emotional support of simply being there for them when they're down, or hugging a young child who feels alone. maybe it's as simple as picking up the phone and calling someone we love who's far away. Volunteering is one of the easiest and more beneficial ways we can make the life of someone more beautiful. Consider spending time at children's hospital or a nursing home. And don't forget your animal friends! You can make their life beautiful, too. Become a foster parent or volunteer at an animal shelter. Offer to take your shut-in neighbor's dog for a nice long walk!
And don't neglect your own family. Opportunities abound for making their lives more beautiful. How about reading to them, preparing a favorite meal instead of grabbing take-out on your way home from work, or simply watching a movie together?
Your own life could probably use a little "sprucing up" as well. When we feel good about ourselves and our lives, it makes it easier to care for others.
