      The Frog's Blog

Hi friends. This blog is a labor of love and I want to continue writing every day for a long time to come. But I need a little help. The fees to maintain this website are getting costly for a little frog. If you enjoy reading my blogs, will you please donate a dollar or two, or whatever you can, to help me keep this site (and blog) up and running? I'm on PayPal at irwinquagmirewart@gmail.com. Thank you!

Coincidences

Do you believe in coincidence? Or is it something more than a mere chance occurence?
The dictionary defines coindidence as a remarkable occurence of events or ciurcumstances without apparent casual connection. Are coincidences just random, but similar, events that happen at the same time? Or is there somethingelse at work? I'm not sure, exactly, what's really involved or a work here, but it's kind of fun to think about it.

Are coincidences a sign of something; that, perhaps, we're on the right path? Or is it simply just blind luck? I like to think that there's something more to coincidence but there's really no way to prove it. A friend of mine has been going through a really difficult time lately, and has had some resulting health issues. Not having much money, my friend thought that there wasn't much hope in finding a doctor who could help. Then, out of the blue, a couple of doctors seemed to magically appear, and both doctors were willing to work with him on the financial aspects of his treatment. One even offered a sliding fee scale, that resulted in my friend not having to pay very much at all. Was this just blind luck, or were there are other forces at work?  Another time, when I wanted to remodel my lily pad, the perfect construction company showed up. Their prices were good, plus they used all environmentall-friendly products which is very important to me. It was a match made in the old swamp, you might say. Still another friend, when he wanted to start a business, had several investors show at just right the right moment. They were eager to help him get his venture off the ground.

All of these events could be mere coincidences but, to me, they seem like much more. Perhaps the universe was getting involved or, maybe it's true, that we were all just at the right place at the right time. It's hard to say. I like to think that those of us, amphibian and human alike, who need help and are trying to do good , will have "synchrodestiny" step in and give us a hand when we most need it. Realists would say that's silly; that life doesn't work that way. For dreamers, like me, we like to believe that anything is possible. When you look at the things that we call coincidences, you'll see that they all have one thing in common. And that is, that no one is trying to do any harm.

Good things happen to good people...and good frogs. I believe that. That's not to say that every once in awhile, something good doesn't happen to someone with bad intentions. It does happen...more often than we'd like but, almost always, they wind up paying the price somewhere down the road. That's where karma comes in. And karma can have an ugly streak when it's necessary.

I'm not here to convince that that these random acts are mere coincidence...or that they're not. That's entirely up to you. What I would ask of you, though, is to look at the coincidences in your own life. Is there a pattern to them? Did you get a job you really wanted, even though there was a lot of equally-qualified competition? What made the company select you? Have you tried to start several businesses and none of them worked out, but then you gave it another go and that one, for some reason, had all the pieces fall ino place? If you look closely, I'll think you may well find that many of the circumstances in your life may have been "helped' along by some unseen force of nature. At least that's how I see it. Can I prove it? No. But that's ok.

My wish for all of you is that blind luck, synchrodestiny, or mere chance comes into play whenever you need it most. But just in case it doesn't, here's a lucky horseshoe...
