Here's hoping that your Jump..or Hump Day...is productive and, most of all, fun. Enjoy your work, it's good for your soul. And the weekend will be here again soon enough.
I like Wednesdays. It's a good, solid day of the week. It's neither the early part of the week (which many of us dread), or the end part when we all start thinking about our weekend plans. I prefer to call it jump day; a day to jump into my job with full force and commitment. I've had some tough luck lately, as far as my writing projects are concerned, but that's all behind me (thank goodness) and I am eager to move forward with my latest project. I dare not speak of it just yet but it could well turn out to be one of my best. I'm in the preliminary stages, doing the research, and I'm getting really excited to put the proverbial "pen to paper." My poor little frog brain is a mass of thoughts, ideas, and questions; what title to use, what should the cover look like, how long should it be, what age range do I want to target; You get the picture. There's so much to think about before I ever get started. The good news is that none of these questions need to be answered immediately. Most authors, I think, start off with an idea and end up with something completely different. Writing is a fluid art form. It changes as it goes along; first draft, rewrites, and many incarnations of titles and cover designs...before it all comes together as one perfect little book. I have a new computer, a new attitude, and it's Jump Day...what could be a better way to get started?
Here's hoping that your Jump..or Hump Day...is productive and, most of all, fun. Enjoy your work, it's good for your soul. And the weekend will be here again soon enough.
