      The Frog's Blog

Hi friends. This blog is a labor of love and I want to continue writing every day for a long time to come. But I need a little help. The fees to maintain this website are getting costly for a little frog. If you enjoy reading my blogs, will you please donate a dollar or two, or whatever you can, to help me keep this site (and blog) up and running? I'm on PayPal at irwinquagmirewart@gmail.com. Thank you!

Ever have a morning where you wake up and all you want to do is roll over and go back to sleep? You know, those days when there seems to be no reason to get out of bed. I woke up to some rather unpleasant news and all I could think about was hopping back into bed and pulling the covers up over my head. And so I did. As I laid here, all warm and snuggly, I thought about my life and all the stuff I have to be grateful for. I found my list was getting was long. When I stopped to analyze the indiviual things on that list, there was a surprising pattern. Most of the the items were things we tend to take for granted; our good health, family and friends, our cars and electronic gadgets, and loads of other stuff that slip usually slip through the gratitude cracks. There are so many frogs out there who don't have even the basic day-to-day necessities. I know that many humans are in need, too. So what right did I have to feel bad? I often write about the joys of helping others and decided it was time to take my own good advice. I got myself up, got dressed, and headed off the lily pad to spend some quality time volunteering. I headed over to my local bug pantry to offer my services. On the way over there, I noticed I was starting to feel better.  I had a purpose. I knew that what I was doing would have a positive impact on others. And that always makes me feel good. The best way to dig yourself out of the dumps is to, first, list all things you have to be grateful for. Then, find a way to share your good fortune with someone in need. There's no better way to regain your own happiness than to help others who are in need. It's a proven fact. In addition to immediately feeling better, you'll have one more item to add to your gratitude journal the next time you wake up and feel like like staying in bed!
Have a great day, everyone...
And thanks for reading!
